Rayquaza premium hits PoGo and Storm Emeralda

Storm Emeralda is the Japanese release to watch because Rayquaza has more time than usual to breathe. Add in that we are seeing Dragon Ascent return in July just after PoGo Fest and it's turning out to be a green snek season.

Japan gets M6 Storm Emeralda on July 31, 2026. English collectors are expected to wait until Mega Evolution - Delta Reign on November 6. Normally the English release arrives close enough to cool some of the Japanese-only pressure. This time, 30th Celebration sits in September and pushes Rayquaza's English set deeper into the year.

The set is of course focused on Mega Rayquaza ex. PokeBeach reports a 76-card main set with roughly 35 to 40 secret rares expected, plus early attention on Zinnia's Trust and a split Stadium card called Legendary Summit. PokeGuardian lists Japanese booster boxes at 6,000 yen MSRP, with 30 packs per box and 5 cards per pack.

The live preorder market is already less calm than MSRP. As of June 27, 2026, Japanese retailer listings checked showed Storm Emeralda boxes around 22,000 to 32,000 yen. That is preorder noise, not settled market value, but it shows where early allocation is sitting.

What collectors should notice:
- Rayquaza is strong enough to carry a set on name alone.
- The Japanese release has a long runway before English Delta Reign.
- MSRP and retailer preorder prices are far apart, so sealed pricing needs careful reading.
- Zinnia-linked cards are worth watching because character demand can sit behind the obvious mascot chase.
- The Mega Gallade ex SAR promo may become a separate Japanese event chase rather than a normal set chase.
