Storm Emeralda Opened Hot and Eevee Held Its Ground

Storm Emeralda finally has launch-week pricing.

July 31 turned this from a Rayquaza teaser cycle into a usable market read. The official structure stayed simple. Storm Emeralda is still JPY 200 a pack and JPY 6,000 a box in Japan, while the three MEGA Starter Set ex decks still sit at JPY 1,800 each. What changed is that collectors can now compare those numbers against live asks instead of another week of export fantasy.

The sealed gap is still wide. As checked on August 2, SNKRDUNK had sealed Storm Emeralda boxes starting at JPY 22,900, while no-shrink boxes started at JPY 16,500. Cardmarket had sealed boxes from EUR 175.99 with a EUR 185.00 trend. None of that is quiet. It is still more useful than the final preorder week, because there is now product in hand.

The starter decks showed their order first. On the same August 2 check, SNKRDUNK had the Eevee deck from JPY 4,799 and the Zorua & Zoroark deck from JPY 5,089, while the Sprigatito & Meowscarada deck was much closer to the floor at JPY 1,980. That is a wider spread than the MSRP suggests, and it is the kind of first-week sorting a deck line gets when one mascot is easy and another is more taste-driven.

There is also a separate promo thread now. The official Mega Gallade ex SAR Get Battle campaign started on July 31 and runs through October 31. That matters because it gives Storm Emeralda one more Japanese-only prize path beyond the box itself, and those promos can hold attention even after sealed settles down.

What collectors should notice

  • Storm Emeralda sealed is still expensive, but it is now expensive with product actually in hand.
  • Rayquaza is doing the box work first.
  • The starter decks did not open at one shared level.
  • Eevee still has the easiest collector story in the deck trio, but Zorua is not far behind on the first read.
  • The deck line may calm faster than Storm Emeralda boxes once singles start circulating more widely.
